The virtual resource was created to allow a type of member to reserve the field, court or course he or she wants according to a type of reservation. The purpose is also to prevent these people from reserving all of the resources at the same time (read examples below).
This notion is used to create a group of resources. Then, you can define specific rules of availability for reservation. For a given group, you can also define the number of simultaneous reservations on all the resources of that group.
Rules that apply to a virtual resource are specified in the “Reservation” section, under the “Parameters” module, in the “Reservation system” and “Quotas” menus.
Category: The category is the same as a type of resource. It is used to arrange resources on the schedules, but the virtual resources do not appear on it.
Name: This is the name of your virtual resource as it will be displayed when you define the rules in the “Reservation system” and “Quotas” menus.
Public resource: This characteristic is not used for virtual resources
Virtual resource: Check “Yes” to make your resource virtual and have access to its characteristics.
Composition: Click on the various resources you need to constitute the virtual resource. To select several resources, hold the “ctrl” key.
Maximum number of reservations scheduled at the same time: Define the number of simultaneous reservations possible among the resources you have previously selected.

Some clubs would like to allow their VIP members (top-ranked players, etc.) to reserve earlier or for a longer period of time. At the same time, they would like to limit these special authorizations so that VIPs do not block all the courts they can use at the same time.
Let’s consider that members who have the VIP type have access to courts #3, 7, 8 and 12. I only want two courts to be occupied at the same time by VIPs so that other members of the club can use the two others.
In concrete terms, you need at least:
to create a resource called “VIP courts” and to choose the “virtual” option. In “composition”, select the courts #3, 7, 8 and 12 and in “Maximum number of reservations scheduled at the same time”, choose 2.
to create a VIP type of reservation in “settings” then “type of reservation”
to define the time slot associated with type of reservation in “Parameters” and “Time slots”
to define the price associated with this type of reservation in “Parameters” and “Prices”
to define an access for this type of reservation on the virtual court called “VIP courts”
Of course, you can adapt the parameters to your needs.
You want to allow your members to reserve online but some of them are reluctant to this idea and are worried that they would no longer find available courts when they come to the club. You only want a part of your courts to be reserved online and leave the other courts to be reserved on-site because members do not want to change their habits.
Let’s imagine your club has 10 courts. In concrete terms, you need at least to:
create a resource, selecting the “virtual” option and calling it “Online reservation”. In “Composition”, select all the courts, and in the maximum number of reservations, select 5.
create a type of reservation called “Online reservation” in “settings”, “type of reservation” and check that this is the only one in “public” mode.
define the time slot associated with this type of reservation in “Parameters”, “Time slots”.
define the price associated with the type of reservation in “Parameters”, “Prices”.
define an access for this type of reservation on the virtual court called “Online Reservation”.
At 9 o’clock, only 5 of your 10 courts will be occupied by an online reservation. At 10 o’clock, only 5 of your 10 courts will be occupied because they were reserved online, but they will not necessarily be the same, and so on, and so forth. Actually, the first 5 people who will reserve online will have access to all the courts that are available to online reservation. The 6th one will not be able to reserve online.
