Types of resources

The resource type is used for statistics. It allows you to get statistics of reservation according to the various types of resources you have entered.

category of resource, resource category, field category, court category, field type, court type, course type, course category

This notion is used to assign a shared characteristic to various resources (fields, courts, courses…) in order to analyze the statistics of a group of resources having this characteristic and/or to compare it to another group.

You can add, edit or delete a resource type in the “Reservation” section, then in the “Settings” module and in the “Types of resources” menu.

The resource type only has a name and a display order that you can edit.

Golf clubs usually create the following resource types:

• courses
• seminar rooms

Clubs may also point the distinction between 9-hole and 18-hole courses, and create a specific type for each course.

In tennis clubs, we usually find types of resources that correspond to the surfaces, if they are indoor or outdoor or both:

• Clay
• Grass
• Wood
• Hard
• Smaller courts

• Indoor courts
• Bubble courts
• Outdoor courts

• Indoor clay
• Outdoor clay
• …

Squash clubs seldom use this function but, for those who use it, it allows them to get very precise statistics.

• Courts starting at 9 o'clock
• Courts starting at 9:20

• Courts offering 40-minute time slots
• Courts offering 1-hour time slots

In your situation, the resource types are usually named after the various sports available at your club:

• Squash
• Tennis
• Badminton
• Futsal / indoor soccer

In your situation, the resource types are usually the following:

• 2vs2 fields
• 3vs3 fields
• 5vs5 fields
• …

• Bikes
• Rowers
• Mats
• …

If you consider that your resource is the trainer, you can refer to the previous example to group trainers according to the type of sport they teach. If you consider that your resource is the room where the trainer teaches, you will not need this notion.
