Customize cash registers

Purpose

Thanks to the customization of cash registers, you can adapt the interface to your needs. This function is designed to help you organize products on the interface. You will also be able to create shortcuts, to gather some products together into groups or even to put several categories in a single tab…

By customizing your cash register interface, you will save time and be more efficient.

Customize cash registers

This page is divided into 3 main parts:

  • a block where you can select the tab or the group you want to work on
  • a block where you can have see a preview of the cash register interface
  • a block (on the right) where you can manage tabs, categories you can add to these tabs and the groups of products

Tabs

What is a tab?

There are four possible actions to do with tabs: you can create tabs, delete them, edit them or change the default tab.

Add a tab

To add a tab, you need to, in the grey box located on the right, select the “Add” option, enter a name for your tab and click on “Confirm”. The new tab will be placed after the “All” tab if no other tab was previously created. If there are other tabs, it will be placed in alphabetical order with the others.

Delete a tab

In the grey box entitled “Tab”, select the “Delete” option. A combo box will appear at the bottom of “Tab” box. In this list, choose the tab you want to delete and click on “Confirm”.

Deleting a tab does not delete categories or products. These options are designed to help your organize your cash register.

Rename a tab

In order to rename a tab, choose the “Rename” option you can see on the “Tab” box. In the combo box, choose the tab you want to rename then, in the text box on the right, enter the new name of the tab. Please note that names cannot exceed 10 characters. Don't hesitate to use short names or abbreviations.

Choose the default tab

The default tab is the first tab that opens when you go the cash register interface. If you have kept the initial parameters of ExtraClub, the default tab is set to “All”. If you want to change it, click on “Default tab” and choose in the list the name of the tab you want to see first when you are on the cash register interface. Click on “Confirm” to confirm your choice.

The “All” tab cannot be edited : neither categories nor group can be added (or deleted). It groups all the products that can be sold at the cash register and is structured following the tree structure of the categories you have organized.
If you do not want this tab to be displayed first when you get to the cash register interface, choose another default tab.

Categories

When you create tabs, they are empty. You need to add items to it. To do so, you can add categories or groups. Let us have a look at categories.

What is a category?

The categories of products are the ones you use in the management of products. (link) You can add them to your custom tabs and create shortcuts. For instance, let's imagine that you sell many student subscriptions. These “student subscription” products are in Club\subscriptions\student subscriptions. You can create a shortcut to the “Student subscription” category.

Add a category

Before adding a category, create a tab (see above) where you can put the category.
First of all, select the tab you will be working on in the box at the top left of the screen ; this will be the tab where the category will be added. To do so, select the tab on the combo box and click on “Confirm”. Then, in the yellow box called “Category” (on the right of the screen), select “Add” and choose the category in the list and click on “Confirm”.

The category is then added to the tab. You can add as many categories as you want. However, try to be coherent and group together on a single tab categories containing the same type of products or categories containing the most popular products. Do not forget that you can also create several tabs so you can share categories between them.

Delete a category

To remove a category from a tab, you need to select the tab first, in the box at the top left of the screen and hit “Confirm”. Then, in the “Category” box on the right, check the “Delete” option. In the combo box, select the category you want to remove from the tab and click on “Confirm”. The category disappears from the tab.

Keep in mind that when you remove a category from a tab, the category is not deleted. Only the shortcut is deleted. The products and categories of products you have set up remain the same.

Groups

It is also possible to create groups where you can gather products coming from several categories. For instance, let's imagine you want to create a group where you will put all the sportswear you sell the most. In this list, you have a type of socks, a type of shorts, two types of tee-shirts. When you created these products, you placed these items into different categories of products. Groups allow you to gather all these.

Add a new group

Before adding a group, check that you have created a tab where you will put the new group.

First of all, select the tab where you will place the new group. To do so, in the “Tab” box at the top, select the tab you need and click on Confirm. Then, in the “Group” box on the right of the screen, select the “Add” option and enter the name of your group in the text field.

Then, the group appears under the tab.

Adding products to a group

When the group is created, you need to put products in it. To do so, select the tab where the group is placed, then select the group and click on “Confirm” as in the example below :

You will be redirected to a new page where you will find, on the left, the structure of your products' categories, and on the right, menus allowing you to add or remove products from groups.

Editing a group

To select a product, click on the name of the category or subcategory where you placed it. Then, in the right part of the screen, check the name of the product(s) you want to add to your group. Select “Add to group” in the combo box and click on Confirm as in the example below.

How can I add products to a group?

You will need to do this procedure as many times as required to add all the products you need.

Once you have finished, click on “Back”. Your products will appear in the group.

Removing one or several products from a group

To remove products from a group, select the tab where the group was placed in the “Tab” box at the top of the screen, confirm then select the group you need to edit in “Edit products” and confirm again.

In so doing, you will be redirected to the page where you can edit products. On the right part of the screen, under “Active products”, check the box of the product(s) you want to remove from the group. Then, in the combo box, choose “Remove from group” then click on Confirm. The product you have selected disappear from the group.

Delete a group

If a group you have created is no longer useful for you, you can easily delete it. To do so, start by selecting the tab where you have placed the group and confirm. In the “Group” box you can see on the right of the screen, select the “Delete” option. A combo box appears and you can choose the the group you want to delete. Then, click on the “Confirm” button to confirm your choice.

Rename a group

You can rename an existing group. To do so, click on the tab where you have placed the group (if you haven't done it already) and, in the “Group” box on the right of the screen, click on “Rename” and select the group you want to rename. Enter the new name in the text field. Click on Confirm to confirm your choice.
